The video above shows the full 3D rendering of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) Business School/HRDC building. All the lecture rooms are done and we are now working on externals and facilities. With these facilities, the partnership we at Platform & Unicorn are signing with top business schools around the world, we will be able to stream live classes to our lecture halls in Lagos online, real time. There is no stopping UNILAG from being the number 1 university on the continent. That is the commitment under the leadership of Professor Ogundipe (the Vice Chancellor). Professor Ogundipe, his team; and we at Platform, Diatom and Unicorn are fully aligned.
We (Platform/Unicorn, and the University of Lagos) are hosting 30 of the best African start-ups at these facilities from July 1 for 90 days and have commenced installing the fibre link, the online library, water fountain, gazebos and fully functioning cafe to enrich the overall learning and networking experience. These 30 companies will be incubated, mentored, nurtured, connected to a global network, and matched with investors to get funded. Those coming from other countries or out of Lagos state will also be accommodated. And yes, they will receive an allowance during the incubation. Lagos isn’t cheap, we know. But we believe these companies will go back and start the innovation machine. Africa will rise. It is written.
